The Post About Swimsuits

I have the biggest unofficial war waged on swimsuits. They are evil, pure evil!

No, I am not being irrational I have perfectly good explanations for this vicious battle.

One: no swimsuit ever fits properly after you wear it. I swear they have a secret mechanism that makes them stretch in the exact shape your body is not! After about the third time wearing it, it is no longer a swimsuit, just a misshapen heap of fabric on the floor of your closet doomed to spend the entirety of winter laying hopeless only to face the trash come next spring.

Two: all swimsuits sold today that aren't for toddlers and seventy year old women are bikinis, and what is a bikini good for? Swimming? Covering your skin? certainly not either of those because that would be outrageous.
Also, just a side note of bikinis, more often than not you have to buy a top and a bottom separately. No target I will not spend 20 dollars on a top and then be forced to spend another 20 on a pair of bottoms, because that is forty dollars and I can buy two t-shirts that completely cover my body and can be worn during all seasons for forty dollars.

Three: Wearing a wet swimsuit is one of the worst feelings ever! I live in Michigan and the sun doesn't try out a swimsuit completely for a good three hours.... 3 HOURS! I don't want to sit for three hours, I would rather just change out of it, except then when I want to go swimming again I have to put on a wet swimsuit (which is just as horrible a feeling really)

That was my rant on swimsuits and my reasons for waging this intense war! I hope that you weren't too annoyed with all of the grammar mistakes and complete lack of sentence structure, overwhelming rage due to swimwear can do that do you grammar.

The Post About Farewell

A dear friend of mine has just moved a significant distance away. I have known him since I was a little girl, but we were never friends until last year. It is only now that he is leaving that I wish I would have got to know him sooner.

I realize that change can be good and inevitable, but it can also be sad.

A change like this has no doubt had an effect on my friend, but it has also had an effect on a whole group of people that loved and cared for this dear boy. His thoughts and opinions brought a lot to my group of friends, just as much as his jokes and smiles.

We are so lucky to have techknowledgies in our lives that allow us to keep in touch with people when they move away. In one second I can send a message halfway across the world if I want and stay connected with anyone no matter how far away they may go.

To end this short and serious post I would like to say thank you and good luck to my friend -you know who you are. I hope to see you soon.

The Post About TV Domino Syndrome

We have all done it.

We have all sat there for at least half and hour watching trashy TV. Not just the TV that is written and produced okay but with bad content.
No.
I am talking about straight up B. A. D, bad television.

Now I have my fair share of weaknesses and one of them is television shows. No matter how bad it is I have to sit there and watch the entire episode.
I have no idea why, it is probably some unfulfilled desire in my soul that lives to find out what boy Kathy will pick, or when Sally will wake up from her coma, or when Anthony will find out that Max is his evil twin, or when Jayton will reveal that he is secretly in love with his best friends girlfriend.
It is something roughly along those lines.

Anyways, you know what I am talking about, all of the really, really, really horrible television shows with names like The Tears of Out Past and Moments of  Our Dreams and Malibu Love.
And you sit there and think how is this show even running?
Where do they get the fans from, it is the single dumbest thing I have ever seen?

However, as you sit there and think about how horrible it is, you are watching it. You are talking about it. You are thinking about it!

Now, because I am a professional and can rightly make these decisions, I have decided this is called the TV domino syndrome.

The TV domino syndrome can work in good ways, but it mostly works in horrible, horrible, life ruining, time wasting, brain-cell-depleting, IQ- lowering ways.
The basic principle of the TV domino syndrome is that once you see a television show the first domino, the initial viewing, has been tapped. Then the second domino falls from the first and you all did that as a child.

With good TV like Doctor Who or Sherlock or Merlin or Sherlock, this is a very good thing, because it introduces you to some of the finest art produced for our televisions.
However, when TV domino syndrome occurs with bad television you have a problem. You get so caught up in how horrible it is you don't realize you have just watched eight episodes in a row and for some reason you find your self looking it up on Netflix and before you know it you might actually care, just a little bit whether or not Sally will wake up from her coma..... again.

So I leave you with this very important information: Never fall prey to the TV domino syndr- OH, who am I kidding!?!?! Even the strongest of human intellects fall prey to some degree of TV domino syndrome.

The Post About School Hallways

I have always enjoyed certain aspects about school. I mean you have to admit that the social aspect alone is pretty good -sorry home-schoolers.

But I also enjoy learning,
Sometimes,
I mean if I want to,
Ok so not usually.

But I do like to take in information I think is interesting or cool. I mean do I really care what the square root of 198 is? Do I really care what the surface temperature of the moon is? Do I really care what the ratio of elements in the air is? Not really.

If anyone can tell me the answers to those questions that would be great because I have idea!

However, I love learning about the motives of the Civil War, the reasons behind a humans self preservation, the basic structure of communication, and most of all people!

I just love to learn about emotions, ideas, hopes and dreams, instinct, struggles, all the things that go along with being a human.

Now there isn't a class called "Learning to be Human 101." However, a school, a high school especially, is one of the best places to learn about humans. It is one of the best places to get an idea of love, stress, lying, cheating, stealing, boredom, friendship, and social hierarchy. You spend five minutes in a high school hallway and you can watch relationships begin, grow, and break up within the blink of an eye. Most people don't notice as they rush through the halls, plowing over innocent bystanders as they power walk to there next class, but I usually do.

Now, I'm not creepy or anything but I have a really horrid habit of listening in on other people's conversations. It isn't technically eavesdropping because it isn't intentional! It's not my fault that you walk in front of or behind me and decide to talk loud enough for me to hear!

Ok, so maybe it is eavesdropping, but I can talk about that problem another day.

Anyways, when I walk in the halls and hear all of these things around me I can't help but analyze and assess every word people say. I blame being a writer personally, but others tell me it is just because I am strange.

I have always hated that answer, "Because your strange." That's not an answer it's just a cop out designed to make the other person feel slightly inferior without feeling hurt.

I guess what I am trying to say is that if you are studying Psychology just walk around a high school for ten minutes and I am sure you will pass.

The Post About A New Year

Personally, I have always dreaded the idea of "New Years Resolutions." In my clearly professional opinion, I think they are stupid.

Now I might get stoned for saying this but: Why do we need a day devoted to starting over?

In this world, we can start over whenever we like. We can set goals and push ourselves to do better without having a holiday for it.

I am not saying that we shouldn't celebrate another year, because as a race of living things it is an accomplishment to live a whole 365 days without everyone killing each other.

I'm just saying that setting New Years as a time to make new goals and try to change our lives is just an excuse to push back improving yourself until New Years. If you want to start working out don't wait until New Years. Just go to the fricken gym and start getting in shape. If you want to eat healthier just start buying healthier food. If you want to get closer to God, pick up a bible and start reading.

This might sound a little harsh but the reality is that if you really want to do something, you don't need a holiday to tell you to do it.

As contradictory as this is I think it should be "resolutions" day every day, because it is never too late or too early to change your life for the better.

But also keep in mind that you aren't going to be able to change your life in one day, otherwise I would be in perfect shape, eating three balanced meals a day, and talking to God constantly.

The Post About Sisters

I have two sisters.
An 8 year old, Amy,
and an 18 year old, Audrey.
They are wonderful to have around,

except when they do things that make me want to go on the ultimate killing spree of paper!

Yes, paper.
It is really the only thing I am capable of ripping with my hands and not hurting myself.
However, I have had my fair share of paper cuts.

Anyways, sometimes they get on my nerves more than I care to admit.

Usually, if I am really bothered by something that they do I just "let it go" and move on.

Except I have learned that it isn't a good thing to just "let it go" and move on. This might be different from what you are used to hearing, but I have found it is much much better to talk about before moving on.

It isn't fair for me to do that to either of my wonderful sisters. It's not fair because then the next time they do whatever horrible thing it was that made me want to go on a killing spree -the killing of paper of couse- I am just upset with them and they are confused.

I don't want to make this post a mile long about things you probably don't care about, so I promise I am wrapping it up.

Bottom Line: if you are upset with someone, let them know what is going on and I'm sure that you will be able to work it out with minimal pain and confusion for both members.

But, you know it will probably only work if your siblings are as spectacular and amazing as mine. I mean Amy is like a thousand baby kittens -on occasion she can be a little more like a pack of angry tigers, but I'm trying to be nice. And Audrey, well Audrey is so strange and awkward that you have to love her no matter what. Sometimes I love her so much, I question whether or not she is a magical fairy that feeds people magic fairy dust to make them love her.....

The Post About Tom Baker

I went to the library today to pick up some books I had on hold, and, as if the library was fueling my fangirl need, there was a twelve DVD set of Tom Baker Doctor Who episodes.

I have seen almost all of the before, but lets be honest who doesn't want to watch about 43 hours of Classic Who?

Tom Baker is tied with Peter Davison as my favorite Classic Who Doctor.

This has to o mostly with the sheer brilliance of Tom Baker as and actor. He did a marvelous job playing this iconic British role.

I don't want to rant on too long about his otherworldly  wonderfulness, but he has earned a whole post dedicated to just himself.

If you are a fan of Doctor Who and haven't seen Classic Who episodes, you should go to your local library and see how many they have on DVD. Then check out as many as possible and be prepared for the best acting you have ever seen pared with the MOST horrible special effects and monsters ever to be created in the 70's!
